The Inverse Study Abroad Phenomenon
Being a junior in college is an exciting time--for many, it means finally turning 21, going abroad, and getting an internship that hopefully leads to a job after graduation. However, most of my closest friends are currently abroad, and while I love following their blogs to keep up on their international adventures, I still miss them like crazy. Two of my sorority sisters--LC and LA--are currently in Ireland, while three of my best friends from home--RB, MC and KW--are all gone this semester, exploring Sweden, Hungary and the Czech Republic. It certainly is an odd feeling when the people you are closest to are all jetsetting abroad and you are the only one left at home. All of a sudden, the US, a country inhabited by millions, can feel pretty lonely without the most fabulous girls I know. While I know they're taking advantage of amazing opportunities, experiencing unbelievable adventures, and growing into fierce, fearless women, I still miss them tremendously and can't wait until they all return!

Every Journey Starts with a Single Step, Right?
And so I begin my journey into cyberspace. I am a twenty-something aged college student, interested in documenting the world around me (and hopefully providing a few laughs along the way). An English major, I am all about writing, reading, girl power, good food and good friends to share it with. Best case scenario, I'll be able to share my experiences as a nanny, student, friend, and sorority sister with you in a way that sheds some light into the life of a headstrong girl who wants to make her mark. Worst case scenario, I will hear the cyberspace version of crickets. Let's hope it is the former; stay tuned!
